Charity Support and Enjoyable Event
Well done to Sally Reid who won the Individual Competition held at the Bridge Club on Friday 5th August. There were 16 members participating and over £76 was raised for a Rheumatoid Arthritis Charity.
 
Individual Competition

On Friday 5th August at 7 pm, the Bridge Club is holding its first Individual Competition. We hope many of you will enter the competition to help make this event a success. You can enter using the list at the Bridge Club, by telephoning in the usual way or by emailing Gibby here.

Reid Trophy

Well done to the team of Abigail Wilson, Russell Ainslie, Jun Nakamaru-Pinder and Alisdair McLeod (pictured below with Sally Reid) on winning the Reid Trophy held at the Bridge Club on Sunday 13th February.

   
Phunday Bridge starts Sunday 16th January

Phunday Bridge is starting in the New Year and Gibby and Sally will be hosting the sessions in January. For more details click here.

 
SBU Sims Success

Congratulations to Jun Nakamaru-Pinder and Jim Hay for winning the Lord Thompson Trophy for the SBU Simultaneous Pairs, 2010 which was held at the end of October. Well done also to Aileen Malone and Beth Batey for coming a very creditable 9th place in the Tuesday section. The full listing of results can be found here.

 
Commonwealth Gold Medal

Congratulations to the Scotland team of six including Sandy Duncan, a member of the Phoenix Club, on winning the Gold Medal at the Commonwealth Nations Bridge Championships held recently in Delhi. A brief account and some pictures can be found here.

Bridge for Primary and Secondary Pupils

Please note that sessions for primary and secondary pupils will recommence at the Bridge Club on Wednesday 8th September from 3.15 pm onwards.

Bridge Lessons for Beginners and Improvers

Friendly lessons for beginners and improvers are being held at the Bridge Club over three terms from 6th September, 2010 to 27th June, 2011. The cost per term is £50. Enrollment for the first term will take place on Monday 6th September at 7.00 pm.
